January 22, 2009: ST LOUIS, MO – In an effort to assist petroleum facilities with affordable and custom enclosure solutions, Porta-King manufactures a variety of different buildings and enclosures to meet a wide range of applications that include guard buildings, equipment shelters and other custom enclosures unique to the petroleum industry.

At this facility, ethanol is delivered by tanker rather than pipelines to the facility every 20 minutes, the drivers must stand by while the ethanol is mixed with gasoline in case an emergency shutoff is needed. The Porta-King enclosure allows the driver to stay warm and safe while monitoring the fuel transfer.

For this particular application, the site where the enclosures were to be assembled included existing conduit and wiring in the concrete floor, making the installation of a Porta-King preassembled building impossible.

To accommodate these site conditions, Porta-King utilized our Pivot-Lock wall system which includes 3” thick insulated panels that are pre-framed in anodized aluminum with a painted steel exterior surface. NEWARK, NJ– Porta-King Building Systems, manufacturer of prefabricated structures, recently completed work on security guard booths that will serve the Newark Housing Authority in New Jersey. The custom booths that Porta-King installed will better protect the housing authority guards in Newark.

Due to the heightened safety needs of the housing authority, it was imperative to improve security of the guard buildings. The previously used building had no ballistic rating, whereas the new security booth has a level IV ballistic rating.

The new and improved security booths measure 15 feet by 5 feet and will allow for a secure and safe location for the guards that occupy the booth 24 hours a day.

May 21, 2008: ST. LOUIS, MO – For decades, Porta-King has supplied and prefabricated anodized aluminum buildings to the largest international airports in the United States. Recently, Porta-King completed a significant project at Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta, GA to retrofit parking facilities as a part of a new revenue control program.

Some two years ago, airport officials purchased prefabricated buildings from Porta-King. Based on the airport’s new approach to parking revenue control, airport officials either needed to replace or retrofit 16 buildings in order to upgrade and install special electronic housing.
